In the meantime...

So a few of you know that I was recently here:

Sadly, this isn't my picture.  I'm working on going through them.  I got a fancy new camera that requires a lot more work before posting photos.  So, as a way to throw you off the scent here is a website that caused me to lol, snort and guffaw all at once.

Things I love

I went home this past weekend to play with these little munchkins.  I had so much fun!

On Friday night I was talking to Mya and she kept calling me 'Grandma' (hopefully because we were at my mom's house and she was just confused- not because I'm like a grandma...).  I told her that if she did that again, I'd tickle her.  So she called me 'that word' again and I tickled her.  Then on Sunday she came over for the day and we did all kinds of fun things.  We made cupcakes (see picture).  We jumped on the trampoline.  We made a fort and watched a movie in it.  We drew pictures.  We cut up the peppers for dinner.  We exhausted Aunt Coe.  Then during dinner we were all chatting and Mya says to me 'Grandma, can I have some milk'.  I looked at her and asked what she said.  She giggled and I winked at her, handed her the milk and continued my conversation.  Apparently that wasn't good enough for little Miss Sassy Pants because she then banged her hands on the table and said 'So Coe- are you gonna tickle me or what?'  It was so funny!  I just love that I have the cutest niece and nephews in the world.  After dinner we went outside and were playing with pop-its (the fireworky things that you throw on the ground).  We were a little worried about how Liam would act around them.  We shouldn't have worried at all because he LOVED it!  He was laughing so hard that he was shaking!  Check it out!
FYI- this is my first time uploading a video.  Sorry if it doesn't work or I did it wrong.

Memories

So we've all been hard at work on this Mormon Message for the past couple of months.  It's been a HUGE undertaking with even bigger blessings that come from it.  I honestly can't stop watching it!  It's from one of my favorite talks from President Uchtdorf.  He's so amazing!

When we were coming up with the concept of the 'little moments that matter most', we all shared times in our lives that made a big impact on us.  It was great to learn about my co-workers and their lives before I knew them.

The things I mentioned are: the annual 4th of July waterfights, the Thanksgiving blessing on the food which turned into my grandpa praying for all of us by name for the things that we specifically needed, playing board games until we laugh so hard we're crying, and the idea of mine that they used was....  (drumroll please).  When I was 12 or 13 we went on an extended family vacation to the Oregon Coast.  All of my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and my family stayed in a cute little cabin on the beach.  It's still one of my fondest memories.  Aunt Myrna grabbed all of us kids and had us run into the water with all of our clothes on, getting carsick on the ride there, sitting in a random parking lot watching the 4th of July fireworks somewhere along the way, looking for sea lions, and most importantly- the example of my grandparent's love.  One thing I saw there has stuck with me and made such an impression.  I was somewhat of an introvert and was sitting on the beach reading.  My grandma and grandpa had gone for a walk along the water.  I looked up and saw them walking back, holding hands.  That's it.  So simple and beautiful.  Such an example of a loving relationship.  They were married for over 50 years before my grandma passed away.  Whenever I remember her, I remember that moment.  I feel like I caught a glimpse of something amazing that day.

Of course, that moment was edited and slightly changed for the Mormon Message- but I just wanted to share the inspiration for it.  I'm so grateful for my family and the knowledge that we will all be together for eternity!

I seriously LOVE my job!

Yummy

So as I'm sure you can tell, I don't blog about something unless it's very near and dear to my heart.  And I just have had a hard time bringing myself to move the Bon Jovi pictures further down the page.  But this is important so- sorry Jon!

A few months ago I was introduced to the Chow Truck.  I've never been a fan of eating street food.  I'm just too much of a germ-a-phobe.  My co-workers were all going to this place for lunch and I had no idea it was a food truck.  I just went along for the ride.  Friends, I have to tell you- this has changed my life.  Allow me to introduce you to the wonder of the Pineapple Ginger Pork taco:

You're welcome.  I've also had the Barbeque Brisket Taco and the Coconut Lemongrass Chicken Taco. They are all so fantastic!  I tend to think of myself as a somewhat picky food-ologist and I take pictures of my favorite food before I eat them so I can remember them later.  But with these tacos, I just scarf into them like it's my last meal.  No kidding- possibly the best thing I ever ate.  (Sidenote- anyone besides me watch 'The Best Thing I Ever Ate" and think that you want to punch Giada in her big teeth?)

Joining the Chow Truck today was another delightful surprise.  So Cupcake now has a truck so you can get their cupcakes without going to their ghetto store!  Yeah!
I actually had a Key Lime one, but they didn't have a picture of it on their website.

So I guess the moral of the story is that I really like food.  Nope- I like really GOOD food!  And the weather is nice and sunny today so that makes it all the better!

I will leave you with the yummiest thing of all:
Are you freaking kidding me Mr. David Beckham?  Dang- everyone knows you shouldn't look better than the bride!  I think your wife is giving me dirty looks.  I just can't help it- you're so pretty.  And.... I need to go talk to my Bishop now.

Happy Birthday Baby!

To the three people who read this blog, I hope you've noticed that I've been trying to conserve space on the internet by only posting important things. This is one of those things.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON BON JOVI!!!!

Dear Jon,

I remember being a young pup and having to sneak into Stephanie's brothers bedroom to listen to your tapes. This ended in high school when I was able to convince my mom that since you talked about the Holy Ghost in 'Bed of Roses' that you were a 'nice' rock band and then I was allowed to listen to you. That was when my obsession appreciation for you began.

You're pretty.

I remember riding in a car with my cousin Hoochie. She was in high school at the time. "It's My Life" came on the radio. We both remarked on how much we loved the song. Then she turned to me in complete seriousness and said 'Did you know that this band has apparently been around for a while?' We still laugh about that to this day.

I remember when I was living in LA my mom would send me little care packages. One in particular contained a couple cans of chili and the picture below. See, she understands me. And you're kinda hot- even Adele gets that!

I remember how my other cousin Craig knows you and has never even attempted to introduce us. This is evident in the fact that the last time you were in Salt Lake, he was able to get backstage tickets for his brother and not me. Cory- you're dead to me for taking them.

I remember last year when I went to California to your concert. Me and my friend Emalee stalked your keyboardist, David all around the Century City Mall. We trapped him in Bloomingdales and had a wonderful conversation in which I didn't throw up at all (like I expected I would). I hope he told you hi for me.

I'm really excited to see you in 20 days! I can hardly wait! Until then, Happy Birthday my love.

Kyiv Ukraine Temple Video

This is one of my favoritest videos my department has ever produced. The sweet testimonies of these kids in the Ukraine makes me realize how much I truly take for granted everyday. Please watch it. I dare you not to cry.
